#3 XyliMelts for Dry Mouth – are oral-adhering discs that stick to your teeth or gums to relieve persistent dry mouth.

Promising review: "It is my habit to read the negative reviews to see if there is an aspect that will be intolerable. When a magazine had an ad for a sample, it was a no-brainer. After trying the product for nearly a week with excellent results every night and waking up with a moist mouth every morning, I was hooked. It is puzzling that reviewers said there was slime--not so. Some said they taste awful, but there is NO taste. Some said they were uncomfortable; perhaps they are being used improperly. After about 20 seconds there is no longer a noticeable feeling in the mouth. Probably the reviewers who said it helped them despite Sjogren's or post chemo should be the gold standard as evidence of product efficacy. These are definitely worth trying! I am recommending them all over the place." - L. Smith

Promising review: "Absolutely the best product on the market for anyone who has suffered a serious surgery with nerve damage to the mouth and gums. It provides relief from the extreme dry mouth. Can be taken at night to provide sleep and rest. You can count on this product to provide some relief. My damage is permanent and zylamelts is the only product that provides me some relief. I can not say enough about this product to those who suffer from damage from complicated surgeries and damage from Chemo. Even Dry mouth from medication that is extremely painful. The adhesive back helps with sleeping and rest. I will continue to use this product as long as it is available. I use it every day of my life. I thank my surgeons for telling me about this product." - Amazon Customer

#4 Chemo Tip: Bitoene for Dry Mouth while on Chemotherapy

"If you are doing chemotherapy, there is a chance you'll experience weird mouth problems. Some people get thrush, some people get cancer sores, and just really sore gums and tongue.

Regardless, it super-sucks.

I used Biotene gel, and it was great for easy of use, and traveling. You want to take it with you, if you go out, cause if it's really bad, it's so uncomfortable and can make eating a nightmare.

If you are experiencing mouth sores and are on chemotherapy, I HIGHLY recommend you get the Biotene AND start drinking a lot of water. Probably 3x's more than what your're drinking now....I say that because most of us don't drink enough water in general, and chemo is so hard on your body, you need a lot more than usual.

The more you stay hydrated, the less severe the side effects.

That was my experience anyway.

Cheers.
Sarah." - source: Confessions of an Empath / Youtube

#13 BasicBites help protect enamel from the harmful effects of dry mouth.

Promising review: "This was recommended during a dental continuing education class. Dry mouth, whether from medications, radiation or chemo is a huge risk for cavities. These bites help keep the mouth moist, and improve risk against cavities. I got them for someone starting chemo. I've been told keeping the mouth healthy before treatment begins helps keep it healthier during treatment. The 'Moisyn' dry mouth spray and spry xylitol products are also used in this protocol" - Synchromom56

#17 Xerostomia sufferers

View this post on Instagram

Got Dry Mouth? ??☀️ . Are you on multiple medications, going through chemo, or just notice you get cotton mouth throughout the day? Then you probably have dry mouth (also called xerostomia). Most people don’t even realize it! When I tell my patients they have dry mouth, they are always surprised, but being a dental professional and looking into thousands of mouths, it is easy for us to tell. . The reason why dry mouth is a concern is that not only is it uncomfortable, but it makes you more susceptible to cavities ? When the mouth becomes dry, bacteria multiply and spread at a much more rapid rate, increasing your chances of developing cavities. . These are some of my favorite products that I recommend to my patients who have dry mouth! These products alleviate the annoying symptoms but also help to produce salivary flow. Plus, these products have fluoride and xylitol to help prevent cavities. . There are so many products like mouthrinses, lozenges, gels, toothpastes, and sprays available for xerostomia sufferers, so talk to your Dentist or Dental Hygienist about what they recommend. We are always here to help! . . . . #rdh #rdhlife #dentalhygienist #dentalhygiene #drymouth #xerostomia #cottonmouth #chemotherapy #chemosideeffects #crest #oralhealth #oral7 #xylitol #xylimelts #dentist #dentistry #dentalhygieneschool #futurerdh #studentrdh #rdhstudent #dental #teeth #smile #dentalfacts #dentalproducts #sd #sandiego #yoursdhygienist #oralcare #investinyoursmile
